About the Club

THE MEON VALLEY WORKING SPANIEL CLUB was recognised by the Kennel Club of Great Britain in April 1985.  Our first Novice Any Variety Spaniel Trial was held in the season 1985/86.  By the summer of 1990 we had already been granted Open Qualifying Status. We usually hold ten Trials per season, two Cocker Trials - Novice and Open an Open ESS and the rest are Any Variety.  We were, for several years, the only A/V Spaniel Club to hold Trials exclusively for "minor breeds". We still very much promote the working of all spaniel breeds. Presently there are some 650 members on our files, several from overseas.  Now that quarantine regulations have been relaxed we look forward to meeting our overseas friends.  In addition to our Trials we hold various other events during the year from Skittle Evenings to Weekends away, shooting over our own dogs.  We produce regular Newsletters which we hope are found both informative and amusing.
